In the Opening game of 2010, Firies U21 got the club off to a good start with an easy win over Currow in the E Kerry Championship on Sunday last(31/01/10) in Pairc Eamon.  Firies got off to a great opening with a pt.  from Colm O'Shea after just two minutes before Currow got their first score in the 14th min., a pt from a free, Colm had got three more points (two from frees) and S. Foley a point, Currow had a second pt. a minute later and then in the 17th minute Con O'Mahony goaled for Firies getting the final touch to a loose ball.  Five minutes later his brother Eamon after a good solo run from 40 yards scored a second goal and by half time Firies led by 2-7 to 0-5.  The second half was a very one sided affair with Firies scoring points at will ending up winning 2-20 to 0-5 and Currow failing to score in this half, it was a game that was far too easy for Firies who go through to the Q.F.
